A Closer Look: 2018 Winterfest Cookie Prizes

winterfst word

Winterfest is well underway in Webkinz World, and if you’re like me, you’ve already collected quite a few of this year’s Winterfest prizes.

3-Snowflakes-1

One way to win 2018 Webkinz Winterfest prizes is to catch the falling snowflakes that randomly appear on the screen while you’re playing (you get two extra prizes per day if you’re Deluxe).

Another way to get a whole different set of prizes is to feed your pet 2018 Winterfest Cookies. These cookies are only available at the Ganz eStore. You can buy one individually or buy a pack of 3 or a pack of 6.

Winter-COOKIES

Today I want to take a closer look at the 2018 Winterfest Cookie prizes. I hope this will help you decide if you might like to buy some of the cookies and maybe give you a couple of ideas about how you can use the prizes.  🙂

coollogo_com-23811873

There are 12 prizes and 1 Grand Prize you can win when you feed your pet a 2018 Winterfest Cookie. The prizes are awarded randomly.

Here’s a list of the 12 different prizes you can win:

  1. Winterfest ski goggles
  2. White hockey helmet
  3. Boys figure skates
  4. Chalet chair
  5. Winterfest skis
  6. Snow covered maple tree
  7. Hockey net
  8. Chalet ski rack
  9. Arctic fox cub plushy
  10. Chalet column
  11. Expert ski slope
  12. Ski lift sofa

The Grand Prize is the Ski Slopes Wallpaper. (I was lucky enough to win one of these wallpapers.) Since it’s wallpaper, you can only use it in an indoor room. It’s one of the special “room with a view” type of wallpapers that creates a multidimensional look. (The Ganz eStore has a few others like it.)

Here’s how the Ski Slopes Wallpaper looks in your pet’s room – I paired it with the First Snow Flooring that you can buy at the WShop for 150 kinzcash:

ski slopes wallpaper

I think the Ski Slopes Wallpaper is pretty awesome. It’s the perfect match for the ski slope and expert ski slope prizes.

Speaking of ski slopes, let’s take a look at the two different types you can win during Winterfest.

By catching a falling snowflake, you have a chance to win a ski slope. If you haven’t already tried out the ski slope in a room, you definitely should! It’s a fun interactive item that actually allows  your pet to ski down a small hill:

ezgif.com-video-to-gif(8)

(Doesn’t Audrey – my Blue Persian – look so cute in her skating outfit?)

When you feed your pet a 2018 Winterfest Cookie you have a chance of winning an Expert Ski Slope. This item is also interactive. It’s taller than the ski slope and has three “turns”:

ezgif.com-video-to-gif(9)

Here’s a little something I put together to see what it looks like when you combine the different slopes into one awesome skiing experience for your pet:

ezgif.com-video-to-gif(7)

As you can kind of see from the gif above, I’ve been having some fun piecing together my Winterfest Cookie prizes and creating an outdoor ski scene.

In the pic below, you’ll see the Ski Lift Sofa as well as the Snow Covered Maple Tree. I’ve also incorporated a few of the falling snowflake prizes:

ski slopes room

Later I added those adorable bunnies and a couple of arctic fox cub plushies to the scene. They are just SOOOO cute! 🙂

arctic fox plushy and bunny plushies

So what does your pet want to do after all that skiing? Warm up in a cozy ski chalet, of course!

Lucky for you and your pet, you can win chalet wallpaper and flooring from this year’s Winterfest Challenge:

chalet empty

One of the coolest additions to any ski chalet is the Chalet Column you can win when you feed your pet a 2018 Winterfest Cookie. The Chalet Column can be turned to show off one of four different looks, so it’s really versatile:

In addition to the plain chalet column, there’s a look with vintage snow shoes:

column side 1

A look featuring real working Christmas lights:

column side 2

And a look with a glowing lantern:

column side 3

Here is a room I put together by adding the Chalet Ski Rack, Chalet Chair and the Chalet Columns along with some other Winterfest prizes – it’s a bit empty and still needs lots of work, but this will give you an idea of how some of the pieces look in a room:

ski chalet with prizes

The 2018 Winterfest Cookie prizes also include clothing items. Specifically, you can win Winterfest Ski Goggles, Winterfest Skis, a White Hockey Helmet and Boys Figure Skates.

The Winterfest Ski Goggles and Winterfest Skis actually look very similar to the ones you can win from the falling snowflakes. The only real difference is in the colors.

The snowflake prizes are a white, purple and blue color combination:

regular skis and ski goggles

While the Winterfest Cookie prizes are more of a neon/electric blue and green:

winterfest skis and ski goggles

There’s a couple more prizes I want to look at before I wrap up this post. What would winter be without hockey? 🙂

First, get your pet dressed in their hockey gear – this is Vint, my Mohawk Puppy wearing a Red Team Snow Suit from last year’s Winterfest along with the White Hockey Helmet and Boys Figure Skates from this year:

boys figure skates with hockey helmet

I just love the way Vint looks wearing his ski  helmet – too cute!

hockey helmet pic

Once your pet is dressed for hockey, it’s time for them to get out on the ice. Here I used some of this year’s prizes – like the Skating Rink Floor Tile and the Skating Rink Edge Piece – along with the Hockey Net from the Winterfest Cookies to start building an outdoor hockey rink:

hockey rink

What do you think of this year’s Winterfest prizes? Which of the Winterfest Cookie prizes is your favorite? Let me know in the comments! I’ll be sending out Winterfest gifts, and I just might give away some Winterfest Cookie prizes, too! (Make sure I know your username and be sure to friend me on Webkinz.)

P.S. Here’s a really quick video I did when I “unboxed” my 2018 Winterfest Cookies:

Thank you to everyone for your guesses – keep them coming! If you think you can stump me on the Kinzapedia Challenge, email me at natbrownnat@gmail.com with a page number from the Kinzapedia. The Kinzapedia can be found on Webkinz Newz.

The Kinzapedia Challenge lasts through August 7th, and you can guess once per day. Click here to read the rules if you missed my first post.

A Closer Look: New Jumbleberry Fields Prizes

Jumbleberryfields1

Today we’re going to take a closer look at the new prizes added to Jumbleberry Fields in honor of the 2017 Berry Fest. There are a total of 7 new prizes you can earn by filling up your jars.

Jars-Filled

I’ve been saving up my berries for quite a while now, and I was lucky to have full jars to trade in for these new prizes. It can take a long time to fill your jars, especially with moonberries, so I think it’s good to see what these new prizes look like and how they function when you add them to your pet’s room.

swirl_110_orig

jumbleberry

Let’s start with jumbleberries. The two new jumblerry prizes are the Farm House Shelf and the Bundle of Pickleberries.

farmhouse-shelf

The Farm House Shelf matches with the new “Farm House” theme that has been introduced into the Jumbleberry Fields prizes. (We’ve already seen the “Country Kitchen” theme, which included wallpaper, flooring, windows and even place settings.)

farm house shelf

I love all the details in the Farm House Shelf, like the red and white towel hanging on the bottom and the jars of preserves on the shelf. It’s a perfect addition to any kitchen, especially a jam making kitchen.

bundle of pickleberries

Here’s a look at the Bundle of Pickleberries lined up in a berry themed kitchen:

bundle of pickleberries 2

The Bundle of Pickleberries completes the set of berry bundles, as we’ve already had the jumbleberry, sugary berry and moonberry bundles to choose from and add to our rooms.

swirl_110_orig

Next up we’ll check out the sugarberry prizes. The new sugarberry prizes are the Farm House Flooring and the Farm House Wallpaper. I love the wood and stone look of the Farm House Flooring and Wallpaper.

farmhouse wallpaper

The Farm House Flooring and Wallpaper coordinate with chocolate colored wood, greyish brown wood and dark grey/brown stones in all different shapes and sizes.

farmhouse flooring

As you can, the two match each other very nicely:

pickleberry

Now let’s take a look at the pickleberry prizes. We’ve got another addition to the “Farm House” theme with the Farm House Window, and there’s also the Berry Farm Stand.

farmhouse window

I’m going to want to collect a few of the Farm House Windows to complete my Farm House room. The Farm House Window has a nice view of a tall wheat field with green trees off in the distance:

The other pickleberry prize is the Berry Farm Stand.

berry farm stand

The Berry Farm Stand is a beautiful dark wood and features the Jumbleberry Fields logo:

berry farm stand front

The Berry Farm Stand matches really well with prizes like the Fresh Pie Stand and the Jumbleberry Fields Sign. I’ve used some of these prizes to create a berry farm complete with places to sit, fresh berries to buy and other fun activities fit for a day at the farm:

swirl_110_orig

moonberry

Last up is the moonberry jar’s new prize, which is the Farm House Cabinet.

I’m sure you’ve caught onto the pattern by now. 🙂 The Farm House Cabinet is made out of the same grey toned wood to match with the other Farm House prizes. It’s actually a dresser that holds 12 clothing items:

So, if you put all the new prizes together, you get something like this:

If you love Jumbleberry Fields, the Ganz eStore offers a couple of different ways to enhance your game play. You can buy seeds to grow all four types of berries in your pet’s garden. These berry seed packets are available in the Ganz eStore for purchase with eStore points.

You can also purchase “Bonus Plays” right from the game itself. Use your eStore points to buy 1 Bonus Play or 3 Bonus Plays:

Speaking of the eStore and berries, there are also lots of really cool items you purchase with eStore points to design and build an awesome Jumbleberry Fields room or farm.

Here’s a few examples:

These items are available for Berry Fest, but they may not last for long, so check it out while you have the chance.

Webkinz Berry Fest 2017 Prizes

Berry Fest 2017 kicked off today, and I’m already having “berry much” fun! 🙂 I’m loving this year’s Berry Fest prizes, and it’s great that floaty clicky prizes are back in the rooms and arcade. It makes it sooo much easier to collect all of the day’ prizes.

If you’ve been on Webkinz today, or remember Berry Fest activities from the past, then you know that there are 6 kinds of berries you’ll find floating around Webkinz World:

Berry-Festival-Berries

But…the REAL stars of the show are the Goo Goo Berry and the Polarberry. Why? Because feeding one of these types of berries to your pet will earn you a special prize.

There are two different sets of prizes, but they’re basically the same – just swap out one berry type for the other.

Here’s a picture of the Goo Goo Berry prizes from Webkinz Newz:

Goo-Goo-Berry-Prizes

And here’s a look at this year’s Polarberry prizes:

Polarberry-Prizes

As you can see, the prizes are divided into three categories: common, uncommon and rare, which means that you’ll win more of the ice cream cone than you will the car.

I’ve had great luck so far this morning, and I’ve got 3 Goo Goo Berry Cars total. The only prize I don’t have yet is the Polarberry Car.

If you’re wondering how I could have already won so many prizes, it’s because I’ve saved up my Goo Goo Berries and Polarberries from previous years. I like to keep my “special” foods and store them in rooms filled with refrigerators, like this:

fridge food room

This morning I went searching through my refrigerators and found plenty of both kinds of berries stored away:

dock and berries

Let’s take a look at some of the prizes you can win when you feed your pet a Goo Goo Berry or Polarberry during Berry Fest!

First are the preserves…these are fun because you can rotate them and get four different looks:

Here are the 4 ways you can display the Polarberry Preserves:

ezgif.com-crop(3)

And here are the 4 ways to display the Goo Goo Berry Preserves:

ezgif.com-gif-maker(4)

Next is the chairs, which have a cute country/farmhouse look to them:

berry chairs

berry chairs 2

You can see that these wooden chairs are adorned with a cushion, and the cushion is decorated with either Goo Goo Berries or Polarberries.

Last up is the Goo Goo Berry Car (I’ll update my post when I finally get a Polarberry car). Take a look at this gif to see what the Goo Goo Berry Car looks like when your pet rides inside (notice the window on the back!):

Wish Factory Prizes: Letter W

Well, here we are – at the end of the list! We’ve made it all the way to Letter W, and that leaves us with five Wish Factory prizes left to look at.

letter w

First up for Letter W is the Water Tower Chair for 100 Wish Tokens:

water tower chair

The Water Tower Chair, like the Moolah Mountain Window and Flowing Ribbons Four Post Bed, is a prize from Mazin’ Hamsters. Now that the Mazin’ Hamsters area of Webkinz World has been retired, Ganz is making some of these items available again by putting them in the Wish Factory.

As you can see, the Water Tower Chair looks like a barrel of water sitting on top of a tall wooden platform:

water tower chair 2

Because it’s a chair, your pet can sit in this item:

water tower chair 3

The Water Tower Chair is an unusual item, but it’s one that I’ve been able to use in a few room designs. For example, here is a Water Tower Chair in a “Carrot Paradise” room:

water tower chair 4

Up next is another water-related item, the Water Treadmill:

water treadmill

The Water Treadmill, which costs 100 Tokens, was a prize available during a collection event leading up to the release of Webkinz X. The Sport Soaker Tub, which we’ve already looked at, was part of this same collection event.

I like the Water Treadmill because it has such a high tech look to it. It’s so different from the plain blue treadmill you can buy in the WShop.

water treadmill 2

The Water Treadmill is also very useful. Give your pet a workout on this piece of gym equipment, and you’ll help fill their heart!

ezgif.com-video-to-gif(5)

Now let’s take a look at the oh-so-cute White Chocolate Fountain:

white chocolate fountain

The White Chocolate Fountain costs 100 Tokens. It was first available as a prize you could earn by playing Webkinz Friends. A few other prizes in the Wish Factory were originally from Webkinz Friends, like the Giant Rafflesia Plant and Millie’s Slide. Webkinz Friends, as I’ve mentioned before, was a Facebook game where you interacted with other Facebook players to build up your own Webkinz town. The game has since been retired.

white chocolate 2

I really like the White Chocolate Fountain because of it’s sweet pink colors, and it just looks so yummy! 🙂 I was lucky to be able to trade for a White Chocolate Fountain in the Trading Room. The White Chocolate Fountain is for decoration only. It’s not interactive or animated.

Our next prize is another throwback to the days of Mazin’ Hamsters. It’s Willow’s Tree, and it costs 100 Wish Tokens:

willows tree

As you can see, Willow’s Tree is actually a willow tree, but it’s special because the front of the tree is decorate with a golden hamster face. You can turn your Willow’s Tree in all four directions to get different looks.

willows tree 2

During my years of playing Mazin’ Hamsters I was able to collect quite a few Willow’s Trees. Here’s a garden I made using some of them:

willows tree

Last up in our list of Wish Factory prizes is the Wooden Garden Archway for 150 tokens:

wooden garden archway

I have a Wooden Garden Archway, but I just can’t seem to find it anywhere! Look closely and you can see that there are potted flowers at the base of the archway. It’s a really pretty item for any garden, but I think it would look especially nice in a Zen Garden or Japanese Garden.

Like many other items on this list, the Wooden Garden Archway was a Mazin’ Hamsters prize. I guess it just goes to show that you can never tell when an item is going to become extra valuable. 🙂

Now that we’ve looked at all of the special prizes that were added to the Wish Factory, do you know which one is your favorite? Are you saving up your tokens for one of these expensive items or do you prefer to buy the items that cost 10 or 15 tokens? Let me know in the comments for a chance to win an Exclusive Item through the Kinzpost!

Webkinz Game: Cash Cow Gets a Makeover

In the latest round of updates, the Cash Cow game got a pretty serious makeover. Not only has the look of the game changed, but they’ve also changed how you win the Cash Cow trophy.

From the very opening screen you can see that Cash Cow has gotten a “facelift,” so to speak. Take a look at the old version of the opening screen:

old-opening-screen

Now take a look at the new opening screen for Cash Cow:

opening-screen

Once you start playing, you’ll notice more big differences. The color of the milk bottles has been changed. On levels 1 through 3 in “Normal” mode, the bottles are red, yellow and blue. Once you hit Level 4, green bottles are added. When you hit Level 8, orange bottles are added.

Here’s how the game play screen looked in the original Cash Cow:

old-game-play

Now here’s the new game play screen:

game-play

If you play the game in “Hard” mode, Level 1 starts off with red, yellow, blue and green. The orange bottles are added in Level 4.

So why are these orange bottles so important? Because orange bottles are now the key to winning a Cash Cow trophy.

In the past, the Cash Cow trophy was awarded randomly. In order to have a chance at winning the trophy, you had to clear a large group of milk bottles (all of the same color). Now, clearing a group of 10 orange bottles means you automatically get the trophy:

winning-trophy

If you win the trophy, you’ll see this message when you’re done playing the game:

cash-cow-trophy

The trophy itself looks the same as it always has. Here’s a side-by-side comparison of the trophy I won yesterday next to a Cash Cow trophy I won a few years ago:

cash-cow-trophy-2

What do you think of these changes to Cash Cow? I really like the fact that the trophy is no longer random, and you know what to do in order to win one.

What are some of the other differences you’ve noticed between the original Cash Cow and this new, updated version? Let me know in the comments for a prize via Kinzpost!

Webkinz Trading Cards Series 2: Virtual Trading Cards

A while back I wrote a post about the Series 2 Webkinz Trading Cards that you can sometimes find at Ollie’s. (If you don’t have an Ollie’s, you can find all kinds of Webkinz Trading Cards on Amazon.)

I recently got a couple more boxes of the Series 2 Trading Cards, and it inspired me to blog about the “virtual trading cards” that used to go along with the real world trading cards.

img_1635

Let me give you a quick overview in case you’re not familiar with Webkinz Trading Cards. There are four series, which started, of course, with Series 1 and 2. When you open a pack of Series 1 or 2 Trading Cards, you’ll find one or more of three different types of cards:

  1. Feature code card – This card has a unique code that you can enter into the code shop for a prize.
  2. Trading cards – These are what make up most of the pack and include pictures and descriptions of games, characters, pets, recipe foods and more
  3. Mystery Pet card – These are rare, usually only one per an entire box; this is a code to enter into the Adoption Centre to receive a pet. You won’t know what kind until after you’ve entered the code.

img_1637

Okay, so now that we’ve covered the basics, let’s talk about virtual cards. When Series 1 and Series 2 came out, both versions also included a special code for a pack of “virtual trading cards” on each feature code card.

The code for the virtual trading cards is on the very bottom of the feature code card:

img_1636

You drag and drop the pack in your pet’s room, and several cards shake out.

ezgif-com-video-to-gif12

Then, you can go to the Wshop and buy a binder that allows you to see the virtual cards you’ve collected. (Look under “Fun Stuff” and then “Books” to find the Series 1 Binder and Series 2 Binder for 100 kinzcash).

series-2-binder

Honestly, just looking at the cards in the binders isn’t too exciting to me, but there IS something about the virtual cards that I think is really cool. Once you collect certain cards, you unlock neat prizes that you can’t get anywhere else…you can even unlock a trophy!

series-2-collector-trophy

There are four sets in total to unlock, each with its own special prize:

locked-prizes

When you collect all of the Webkinz Deck Cards, you get the Series 2 Collector Trophy:

series-2-ct-2

When you collect all of the Challenge Cards, you get the Space Explorer Shuttle, which is interactive – your pet can ride in it!

space-explorer-shuttle

ezgif-com-video-to-gif13

When you collect all of the W Tales Snapshots, you get the W Tales Sofa (one of my favorites!):

w-tales-sofa

w-tales-sofa-2

When you collect all of the At Paw Level cards, you get the “At Paw Level Display Screen,” which is very unique:

at-paw-level

at-paw-level-1

Then, when you’ve completed all four sets, you win the Grand Prize, a Collector’s Paradise Waterfall:

Of all the virtual trading card prizes, by far my favorite is the trophy…I love collecting trophies! I just get so excited when I see my Trophy Room filling up!

Here’s a look at the Series 2 Collector Trophy up close:

So what do you think about Webkinz Trading Cards? Have you ever collected any? Do you have any trading card prizes? Let me know in the comments, and I’ll send you a special trading card prize via kinzpost! (Make sure I know your Webkinz username!)

New Prizes in the Wish Factory: Letter B

Not long ago, Ganz made a pretty big change to the Wish Factory. Instead of just exclusive items, like the Gumball Lounger or Airplane Window, the Wish Factory now offers retired items from past challenges and events.

wish-factory

For example, there’s the Campkinz Pool, which was part of a Marshmallow Collection event in 2013. There’s also the Flowing Ribbons Four Post Bed and the Moolah Mountain Window, which were prizes that could be won by playing Mazin’ Hamsters, a section of Webkinz World that is no longer available.

Another big difference you’ll notice with these recently added items is the cost. Rather than 10 to 15 tokens, these items cost anywhere from 70 to 300 tokens. Even if you’re a Deluxe Member, and you get extra opportunities to win Wish Tokens, it’s still going to take quite a long while before you can save up 300 tokens. You’ll definitely want to be sure that the item is worth all those tokens before you use the Wish Machine.

wish-token

Thinking about all of this gave me an idea. I’ve been playing Webkinz since 2007, and between my two accounts, I have almost every one of the retired items that have been added to the Wish Factory. I decided to give you a closer look at all of these items to help you make your choice once you’ve saved up all those tokens.

By my count there are 19 of these retired exclusives in the Wish Factory. Going through all 19 right here and right now would be a really, really long blog post! 🙂 Instead, I’m going to break up the project into several shorter posts. The Wish Factory lists the items in alphabetical order, so that’s what I’m going to do, too.

None of the new prizes start with “A” so we’ll begin with “B.”

letter-b

First is the Blue Fall Season Window for 100 tokens.

blue-fall-season-window

I do have at least one Blue Fall Season Windows. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find it in either of my accounts, so I don’t have a picture for you.

Next is the Blue Flowery Greenhouse for 200 tokens.

blue-flowery-greenhouse

Here’s an up close look at the greenhouse:

blue-flowery-2

And here’s my greenhouse in a spring garden:

blue-flowery

The Blue Flowery Greenhouse contains storage space:

blue-flowery-3

The Blue Flowery Greenhouse might look familiar to you. That could be because there is also a Yellow Flowery Greenhouse and a Purple Flowery Greenhouse. Besides the difference in colors, the three items are exactly the same.

purple-and-yellow-flowery-greenhouses

That’s all for the letter “B.” I’ll be back soon with the letter “C” and the two Campkinz prizes!

What do you think about the new prizes in the Wish Factory? Are you saving up your Wish Tokens for a retired prize?

A Closer Look: Berry Farm Bouncy Castle

Wow! It seems like such a long time ago that I posted about the new prizes available in Jumbleberry Fields! It’s taken me quite a while to save up enough Moonberries to get the Berry Farm Bouncy Castle, but I finally did it!

This morning I got the last Moonberry I needed to fill up my jar and trade it in for the Berry Farm Bouncy Castle:

berry-farm-bounce-castle

As you can see from the pictures, the Berry Farm Bouncy Castle is a jump/bounce house that looks like a red barn with a tall silo. You can turn the castle all four ways and get four different views:

berry-farm-5berry-farm-4berry-farm-3berry-farm-2

As you probably guessed, the Berry Farm Bouncy Castle is interactive. Your pet can bounce up and down in this item:

ezgif-com-video-to-gif7

Do you have the Berry Farm Bouncy Castle? Are you saving up for one? Let me know in the comments for a Jumbleberry Fields prize via Kinzpost!

If you want to fill up your jars more quickly, you can head to the Ganz eStore and pick up some growing seeds for your garden!
