Hooray for Winterfest!

Wow! And wow some more is all I can say! Ganz has really outdone themselves with this year’s Winterfest. There are prizes galore, challenges and even an awesome pet designing contest happening in January.

I even dressed up some of my pets in celebration on Winterfest:

You can get “slips,” too!

The other day I blogged about the “slips” (Nafaria’s Purple Slippers) that I got in the Webkinz Trading Room. Today I found out that everyone who plays May Peek-A-Newz has a chance to win their own pair of slips!

One of the latest posts on Webkinz Newz showed the prize pool for May’s Peek-A-Newz challenge…and “slips” are one of the rare prizes you can win!

If you play Peek-A-Newz every day in May, that’s 31 chances to win a pair of slips! Pretty cool, huh?

My daily Webkinz Newz routine

Do you visit Webkinz Newz? I do! In fact, I visit the site every morning to get kinzcash, free food and daily prizes. If you visit every day, the prizes and kinzcash will really start to add up. It’s free, quick and easy!

Here’s what I do on Webkinz Newz each morning:

First I get my free food item by clicking to receive the daily freebie: “Monthly Meal.”

Each month is a new “monthly meal” food item. It usually relates to upcoming events or holidays in some way.

After I get my free food item, I return to the “Events” page to get started on the monthly “Peek-A-Newz.”

As I’m searching through Webkinz Newz to find the “host” five times and earn my Peek-A-Newz prize, I also take the short quiz (it’s just one question!) to earn a 50 kinzcash coin that’s sent to my Webkinz account. (The quiz changes each month.)

Right after I take the quiz, I make sure to also participate in the “Pick and Win” for another 50 kinzcash. The Pick and Win is fun because it’s just a quick poll that asks for your opinion, usually about which featured pet you like best. (The poll also changes each month.)

All along the way, as I do these various activities, I’m also earning “moneyz.”

You can use your “moneyz” to buy prizes for your Webkinz account. These are special prizes that are only available for purchase through Webkinz Newz. (Hint: Webkinz Newz prizes do GREAT in the Trading Room!) You can earn up to 500 moneyz per day per account.

I got “slips”!

I pulled off an incredible feat the other day in the Trading Room – I managed to land myself a pair of “slips”!

What are slips? Slips is the nickname used for Nafaria’s Purple Slippers.

But why call them slips? Because – and this is a bit strange to me – for some reason you can’t say the word “Nafaria” in the Clubhouse. So, they came to be known as “slips” for short.

They are one of the most coveted items in all of Webkinz World. And they’re very hard to get. I’ve seen them in the Trading Room a few times, but I’ve never been successful in trading for them before.

So what’s the story with these slips and what makes them so special? From what I’ve been able to find out, Nafaria’s Purple Slippers are available as a prize from the Series 4 Trading Cards. I’ve had a couple of boxes of Series 4, and I’ve never gotten any slips. I also read that the slips were a “peek-a-newz” prize at some point.

What makes them so “in demand” isn’t quite clear. I’ve wanted them because they are sooo cute, and they look really great with so many different outfits:

Slips are also kind of a “status symbol.” It’s definitely odd that there could be such a thing as a status symbol in Webkinz World, but it’s true. There are certain clothing items that people like to put on their pets when they’re going to be in the park or the clubhouse. It makes sense in the trading room, where exclusive clothing items like slips send the message that you’ve got good stuff to trade. (That’s my theory anyway!)

March Peek-A-Newz Begins Today

Today is March 1st – which means a new Peek-A-Newz campaign has arrived at Webkinz Newz.

This month you’ll be looking to spot the pirate parrot, which is the POTM for March.

February Peek-A-Newz

Wow…there is so much going in February throughout Webkinz World, Webkinz Newz and in the Ganz eStore!

One of my favorite February events is definitely the porcupine Peek-A-Newz.

The porcupine is February’s Pet of the Month, so it’s only natural that this little cutie should be featured! Find the porcupine “peeking” out from around Webkinz Newz five times, and you’ll win a prize from this prize pool:

I love how so many of the prizes are related to Valentine’s Day…and you already know I love pink, so I’m super excited about this prize pool!

I’m hoping for some of the purple roses, and I’d love to win a couple of those rare pink wardrobes.
