If you read Webkinz Newz, then you probably know that there’s an Ant Mania Trophy Challenge coming up this month. The Ant Mania Trophy Challenge lasts from July 28th to July 30th.
I’m not very good at Ant Mania, so I started looking for some tips and hints at how to get a better score. I came across some pretty helpful information, so I thought I would share it with all of you. 🙂 Maybe it will help you get the trophy a little faster!
Let’s talk about the game itself – you’re a large black ant trying to pick up pieces of food on a picnic blanket…while avoiding smaller red ants. The more pieces of food you pick up, the more red ants that appear.
Eventually, after you’ve picked up a certain number of foods, a spider appears. (The number of food pieces that triggers the spider’s appearance varies according to whether you’re playing on easy, medium or hard.
If the spider or one of the red ants touches you, the game is over. You don’t get multiple lives or multiple chances – one touch, and the game is done.
There are three boosters or “Power Ups” that will also appear on the blanket:
To collect a “Power Up,” just run over it the same way you do when picking up a piece of food. Don’t wait too long or the Power Up will disappear. Like collecting a piece of food, collecting a Power Up also adds to your score.
Each Power Up gives you a different type of advantage and lasts only a few seconds. A power bar at the top of the screen shows you how much time you have left with your Power Up. It starts out green when it’s full, then goes to yellow, then orange and finally red just as it’s about to end.
Here’s the snail in action – you can see that it slows down the red ants (it slows down spiders as well):
Now here’s the tennis shoe – it makes the black ant (you) much faster:
Last is the lady bug armor – this protects you from the “enemies,” like a shield. If you’re wearing the lady bug armor, you can touch a spider or red ant without losing the game:

Sometimes the real world keeps me busy and I get behind on my Webkinz blogging. 🙂 I’m having an easy day today, just enjoying the beautiful weather and watching the birds at the feeders on my back deck.
I’ve got some fun news and some random thoughts to share, so I figured I’d do a Thoughts from the Treetop post and just collect it all in one place.
First I want to share my exciting news (well, it’s exciting to me, anyway) – I finally got a Pet Party Parade trophy! 🙂 I got the trophy a few days ago on my TreeHuggerJess account, and it’s really cute.
When you complete all 30 levels of the game, you’ll see this message:

It’s the beginning of a new month, and that means a new Deluxe Monthly Challenge. In order to meet this month’s challenge, you’ve got to earn 150 kinzcash playing Color Storm.

Speaking of trophies, I finally won the Candy Bash 2 trophy – and I won it on both of my accounts!
The Candy Bash 2 trophy looks like a chili pepper:

The Candy Bash 2 trophy is actually pretty easy to win once you know the secret/trick to unlocking it. The trophy is awarded randomly, BUT the only way you can have a chance of winning the trophy is by first getting “4 in a row” while you’re collecting the falling candy.
That means “catching” four of the same type of candies/sweets in a row, like this:
Once you’ve collected four in a row, keep playing and wait for the cat (named Gato Loco) to float by across the top of the screen. If Gato Loco is holding a trophy, hit him with a bean – the trophy will fall, and if you catch the trophy before it hits the ground, then congrats! You now have the Candy Bash 2 Trophy! When you catch the trophy, you’ll hear Poncho say “Arrrrrribe!”
The random trophy counter will reset after each appearance by Gato Loco. So if you see the cat but don’t get the trophy, you need to do another four in a row in order to have another chance at the trophy.

I’ve adopted a couple of pets recently. One of them was the Baby Bunny. The Baby Bunny was a special pet in the month of April because Baby Bunny owners got a extra activity each day. (Like the Reindeer Games in December and the Lovely Fox bonus activities in February.)
I named my Baby Bunny “Gidget,” and I think she’s a cutie:

I’ve been so excited about the Black Friday Sale at the Ganz eStore (and all of my other Black Friday shopping, too!) that almost forgot that this weekend is your chance to win a Cash Cow 2 Trophy!
I prefer the original Cash Cow game, but Cash Cow 2 is fairly easy for me, and I definitely want one of those trophies! 🙂
As you can see in the picture above, in order to win the trophy, you need to earn 200 kinzcash playing Cash Cow 2, spin the Wheel of Wow one time and feed your pet 3 glasses of chocolate milk (at the W shop for 6 kinzcash). Overall, it’s a pretty simple challenge, which I really like because some of the other trophy challenges, like the Dashing Dolphin, were too hard for me. (I’m still bummed I missed that trophy!)
If you have a bit of a hard time with Cash Cow 2, here are a few tips to help you earn your trophy faster:
Hint #1: You only need to match up two blocks of the same color in order to remove them, unlike Cash Cow which requires three blocks of the same color.
Hint #2: Be sure to remove the cracking colored square first or else you have no chance of a perfect round (clearing all of the blocks from the board). You have 4 turns to remove the cracking color block before it turns gray and can’t be removed.
 
Hint #3: Try to remove as large of a “chunk” of blocks as you can at one time; this gives you more points.
Hint #4: The lightning bolt block will remove all of the blocks of one color.
Hint #5: The special block that looks like the top of a soda can will remove a 3×3 block of squares. It’s helpful to save this block until the end so you can remove remaining blocks that don’t match each other.
Hint #6: The special block that looks like a battery with a lightning bolt on it will remove an entire line of blocks. Again, it’s best to save this special block and use it at the end of a round to remove all the remaining blocks that don’t have color matches.
Hint #7: The plus sign block will do one of two things, depending on how many blocks are currently on the board. If there are a lot of blocks on the game board, it will “rain down” more blocks. If there are a lot fewer blocks on the board, a whole line of blocks will rise up from the bottom. It’s more beneficial to game play to have the line of blocks rise up from the bottom, so wait until you’ve cleared a good bit of the board before using the plus sign.

Hint #8: After you get past the first few levels, a special block with a “x2” on it will be introduced. When this block is included in a group you’re removing, you get 2 times as many points. You want this group to be as large as possible.

I won the Color Storm Trophy on my gabirdgirl Webkinz account, and it’s awesome! The trophy is animated, and it has sound. When you click on it, it makes a loud thunder crashing sound, and then a lightening storm happens inside the jar.

This weekend (June 10th – June 12th) is the Color Storm Trophy Challenge on Webkinz. And I’ve got a quick tip to help boost your score.
To win the Color Storm Trophy, there are three tasks to complete:
The first two are easy – earning 350 KinzCash is the real challenge. My tip for higher scores on Color Storm is to try to make groups of 6 blocks.
To make a group of blocks of disappear, you need to make a group of at least 4 of the same color. If you can make a group of 6, then all of the rest of the blocks of the same color will also disappear!

As you can see, there are empty “pockets” in the game board – that’s where the pink blocks used to be.
Making a group of 6 is challenging because you have to be careful that it doesn’t turn into a group of 5 – a group of 5 won’t do anything special. Here’s a couple of examplez of what it looks like to get set up for a group of 6:

Yesterday, I told you all about the Hungry Hog Trophy Challenge that’s going on. This morning I won my first Hungry Hog Trophy! When you complete all three tasks in the challenge, you win this adorable trophy and a wish token:
Something I didn’t know before but learned this morning is that the trophy is actually animated! The burger that the hog is holding spins in circles.

The Hungry Hog Trophy Challenge starts today and lasts through March 6th. I’ll go into the details below, but the big picture is this – you need to earn 400 kinzcash playing Hungry Hog to win a never before released trophy.
There are actually 3 separate tasks you need to complete in order to earn the Hungry Hog Trophy:
As you can see, the other two parts to the challenge are pretty simple and can be completed in just a couple of minutes. The real challenge is earning that 400 kinzcash. The good news is that you don’t have to earn it all in one game. Your kinzcash total continues to add up, and it doesn’t matter how many games it takes for you to meet the goal.
You can check on your progress any time by clicking on the Hungry Hog Trophy Challenge icon in your pet’s room:
Hungry Hog isn’t one of my favorite games, but I LOVE collecting and earning trophies, and this one is really cute. It’s a golden hog sitting on a stack of hamburgers:
I’m no expert on Hungry Hog, but I do have a couple of quick tips.
1. “Eating” one of the vegetables will cause more junk food to appear. Here’s what a vegetable looks like:
You have two choices when it comes to the vegetables. You can avoid them, which will help you clear the junk food faster and pass the level more quickly. OR, you can eat the vegetable and earn extra points by eating up the additional junk food. Personally I like to eat the veggies and earn the extra points.
2. The purple ball with the white marking gives you a temporary protective power. Here’s a pic of the booster:
If you eat the purple ball, you’ll notice that your hog will grow larger and will get a shiny glow around him. While your hog is in this protective state, you can actually swallow the bees. Swallowing a bee gets you 100 points.
