Rockerz Pets and Backstage Pass Prizes

Today I want to take a closer look at the prizes you can choose from when you purchase (or win if the case may be) a Rockerz Pets Backstage Pass.

A Backstage Pass is a lot like a POTM gift box or a Super Bed gift box. You drag the pass into your pet’s room, and you’ll be treated to a bunch of Rockerz themed prizes to choose from.

You get a Backstage Pass with each Rockerz Pet you adopt. You can also purchase a Backstage Pass in the Ganz eStore for 2500 eStore points. This month (March 2018), as part of the Deluxe Monthly Challenge, you can win a Backstage Pass and a VIP Backstage Pass. (More on the VIP Backstage Pass later.)

There are 12 prizes to choose from when you open up a Backstage Pass. As you’ll see, all of these prizes have a “rock and roll” theme. If you collect enough of these prizes, you can put together some really cool rooms. Backstage Pass prizes are especially perfect for building a concert room.

All of the Backstage Pass prizes are so awesome that you might have trouble making a choice. To help you pick the most perfect Backstage Pass prize, I’ve taken a closer look at almost all of the items – there’s only one that I don’t have yet.

As I mentioned, there are a total of 12 prizes available from Backstage Passes. Here’s a list you can use for reference or for keeping track of the prizes you’ve collected so far:

ROCK STADIUM WALLPAPER AND FLOORING

I want to start with the Rock Stadium Wallpaper and Rock Stadium Flooring. These are two items that are really great to have if you want to build rock concert room.

Here’s a rock and roll room I’m still working on. It’s not finished, but it will give you a look at the flooring and wallpaper:

One thing the Rockerz Backstage Pass items have in common is bright, fun colors. You’ll see the turquoise/purple/pink combination in lots of the items.

The Rock Stadium Wallpaper is really cool because it packs your room with speakers and spotlights that instantly create a rock concert feeling. The Rockerz logo on the back wall is a perfect backdrop for a Webkinz Rockerz concert.

I love how the Rock Stadium Flooring divides the room into two spaces. The front half of the room is where you’d place your audience and items like the ticket booth. The back half is a wooden floor, which makes it look just like a stage!

TOURING TRUNK

The Touring Trunk is an item that I’ve used as part of a “Pop Princess” room. This room is a combination of a living space and a recording studio:

The Touring Trunk can be used to store clothing items. It holds a total of 8 pieces of clothing:

MAIN STAGE MIC

The Main Stage Mic, which is a combination of a microphone and stool, creates the feeling of a more intimate, acoustic type of concert.

You can see from the gif above that the Main Stage Mic is an animated item. When your pet sits on the seat little black music notes rise up into the air.

The Main Stage Mic would work for a concert room or for a recording studio. How would you use this item?

WEBKINZ PAWS OF FAME

The Webkinz Paws of Fame is only for decoration. You can place the tile in any room on top of the flooring. This item is a Webkinz version of the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Take a closer look and you can see that the prints are from all different types of animals…there are paws, claws, hooves and more.

One thing I really like about the Webkinz Paws of Fame is that it’s pretty large. It covers nearly one fourth of the floor:

CRAZY CROWD SOUND EFFECT MACHINE

The Crazy Crowd Sound Effect Machine is a really fun item. Depending on which way it’s turned, you can choose one of four different looks. The picture above shows the Crazy Crowd Sound Effect Machine turned forward with the speakers facing out. Notice the stickers on the side.

I think the blue guitar leaning up against the speaker is a really cool detail!

STAGE LIGHT LAMP

The Stage Light Lamp is an animated item. As you can see in the gif below, the lights turn on (blue, pink and green) and move around.

This item would be a fun addition to any type of concert room or even a big dance party.

ROCKERZ ELECTRIC GUITAR

The Rockerz Electric Guitar is a decorative item. As you can see, it’s shaped like a W and features bold purple, blue and magenta pink colors.

The picture below will give you a better idea of the size of the Rockerz Electric Guitar. That’s my chipmunk Wanderlei – he’s wearing his Social Media Superstar hoodie! 🙂

There are quite a few different ways you could use the Rockerz Electric Guitar in a room. I’ve always wanted to build a music store or you could even put the guitar in a funky teen room. What ideas do you have for the Rockerz Electric Guitar?

SOUVENIR POSTER

The Souvenir Poster is another item that could work in a variety of different rooms. If you take a close up look at the Souvenir Poster you can see that it features four Rockerz Pets. The pink cat is one of my favorites – she’s so cute!

STUDIO HEADPHONES

The Studio Headphones are a wearable item:

I love the bright, bold pink color of the Studio Headphones, and you can even see them on your pet down in the left corner of the screen:

The Studio Headphones are the perfect accessory for a pet in the studio recording their newest track!

SOUVENIR T-SHIRT

Last up is another wearable item – the souvenir t-shirt. This black shirt features the Rockerz Pets logo on the front and a star design.

You get a peek of the logo when the shirt is on your pet:

A Closer Look: 2018 Winterfest Cookie Prizes

Winterfest is well underway in Webkinz World, and if you’re like me, you’ve already collected quite a few of this year’s Winterfest prizes.

One way to win 2018 Webkinz Winterfest prizes is to catch the falling snowflakes that randomly appear on the screen while you’re playing (you get two extra prizes per day if you’re Deluxe).

Another way to get a whole different set of prizes is to feed your pet 2018 Winterfest Cookies. These cookies are only available at the Ganz eStore. You can buy one individually or buy a pack of 3 or a pack of 6.

Today I want to take a closer look at the 2018 Winterfest Cookie prizes. I hope this will help you decide if you might like to buy some of the cookies and maybe give you a couple of ideas about how you can use the prizes.  🙂

There are 12 prizes and 1 Grand Prize you can win when you feed your pet a 2018 Winterfest Cookie. The prizes are awarded randomly.

It’s one of the special “room with a view” type of wallpapers that creates a multidimensional look. (The Ganz eStore has a few others like it.)

I think the Ski Slopes Wallpaper is pretty awesome. It’s the perfect match for the ski slope and expert ski slope prizes.

Speaking of ski slopes, let’s take a look at the two different types you can win during Winterfest.

By catching a falling snowflake, you have a chance to win a ski slope. If you haven’t already tried out the ski slope in a room, you definitely should! It’s a fun interactive item that actually allows  your pet to ski down a small hill:

When you feed your pet a 2018 Winterfest Cookie you have a chance of winning an Expert Ski Slope. This item is also interactive. It’s taller than the ski slope and has three “turns”:

As you can kind of see from the gif above, I’ve been having some fun piecing together my Winterfest Cookie prizes and creating an outdoor ski scene.

In the pic below, you’ll see the Ski Lift Sofa as well as the Snow Covered Maple Tree. I’ve also incorporated a few of the falling snowflake prizes:

Later I added those adorable bunnies and a couple of arctic fox cub plushies to the scene. They are just SOOOO cute! 🙂

So what does your pet want to do after all that skiing? Warm up in a cozy ski chalet, of course!

One of the coolest additions to any ski chalet is the Chalet Column you can win when you feed your pet a 2018 Winterfest Cookie. The Chalet Column can be turned to show off one of four different looks, so it’s really versatile:

Here is a room I put together by adding the Chalet Ski Rack, Chalet Chair and the Chalet Columns along with some other Winterfest prizes – it’s a bit empty and still needs lots of work, but this will give you an idea of how some of the pieces look in a room:

The 2018 Winterfest Cookie prizes also include clothing items. Specifically, you can win Winterfest Ski Goggles, Winterfest Skis, a White Hockey Helmet and Boys Figure Skates.

The Winterfest Ski Goggles and Winterfest Skis actually look very similar to the ones you can win from the falling snowflakes. The only real difference is in the colors.

The snowflake prizes are a white, purple and blue color combination:

While the Winterfest Cookie prizes are more of a neon/electric blue and green:

There’s a couple more prizes I want to look at before I wrap up this post. What would winter be without hockey? 🙂

First, get your pet dressed in their hockey gear – this is Vint, my Mohawk Puppy wearing a Red Team Snow Suit from last year’s Winterfest along with the White Hockey Helmet and Boys Figure Skates from this year:

Once your pet is dressed for hockey, it’s time for them to get out on the ice. Here I used some of this year’s prizes – like the Skating Rink Floor Tile and the Skating Rink Edge Piece – along with the Hockey Net from the Winterfest Cookies to start building an outdoor hockey rink:

Adopting a Fairykinz Tiger Cub

When I saw the new Fairykinz Tiger Cub in the Ganz eStore, I immediately fell in love!

The Fairykinz Tiger Cub is new this month, and it matches perfectly with the Fairykinz Meadow Theme that’s currently available at the Ganz eStore. My Fairykinz Tiger Cub cost me 10,000 eStore points because I have a Deluxe Membership.

I decided to name my Fairykinz Tiger Cub “Elphaba” after a character in one of my favorite musicals, “Wicked.”

If you’ve adopted any new Webkinz pets recently, then you know that the adoption process is just a little bit different. Now, when your adoption is complete, you’re taken straight to the “Welcome Room” in the Webkinz Clubhouse.

There you’re greeted by Ms. Birdy.

Your pet will ask you to perform a small, simple task – such as putting on a piece of clothing or giving it a snack. As soon as you complete that task, you’ll be transported to a random room in your Webkinz house.

Once you’re back in your Webkinz house, you’ll see your pet’s special gift box in your dock:

Then, you’ll be able to open up any bonus gift boxes you have received:

After I opened up the gifts that came with my Fairykinz Tiger Cub, I took her into my Ohh La La “filling hearts” room.

I filled up Elphaba’s heart as she swam in the pool:

Jumped on the trampoline:

Ran on the treadmill:

And of course took a little nap:

Ant Mania Trophy Challenge: Tips and Hints

If you read Webkinz Newz, then you probably know that there’s an Ant Mania Trophy Challenge coming up this month. The Ant Mania Trophy Challenge lasts from July 28th to July 30th.

I’m not very good at Ant Mania, so I started looking for some tips and hints at how to get a better score. I came across some pretty helpful information, so I thought I would share it with all of you. 🙂 Maybe it will help you get the trophy a little faster!

Let’s talk about the game itself – you’re a large black ant trying to pick up pieces of food on a picnic blanket…while avoiding smaller red ants. The more pieces of food you pick up, the more red ants that appear.

Eventually, after you’ve picked up a certain number of foods, a spider appears. (The number of food pieces that triggers the spider’s appearance varies according to whether you’re playing on easy, medium or hard.

If the spider or one of the red ants touches you, the game is over. You don’t get multiple lives or multiple chances – one touch, and the game is done.

There are three boosters or “Power Ups” that will also appear on the blanket:

To collect a “Power Up,” just run over it the same way you do when picking up a piece of food. Don’t wait too long or the Power Up will disappear. Like collecting a piece of food, collecting a Power Up also adds to your score.

Each Power Up gives you a different type of advantage and lasts only a few seconds. A power bar at the top of the screen shows you how much time you have left with your Power Up. It starts out green when it’s full, then goes to yellow, then orange and finally red just as it’s about to end.

Here’s the snail in action – you can see that it slows down the red ants (it slows down spiders as well):

Now here’s the tennis shoe – it makes the black ant (you) much faster:

Last is the lady bug armor – this protects you from the “enemies,” like a shield. If  you’re wearing the lady bug armor, you can touch a spider or red ant without losing the game:

Now that we’ve covered the basics, here are the tips and hints that I found:

1. The red ants are faster than the black ant, so don’t try to outrun them. Only when you have the tennis shoe/speed “Power Up” are you faster than the red ants.
2. The spider moves faster if you stay still. Once the spider appears, you want to keep moving at all times because the spider’s speed increases when you’re standing still…meaning it can reach you much faster.
3. You can move diagonally. You’re not limited to up/down, left/right. You can move in a diagonal line as well by using two arrow keys at once.
4. When wearing the lady bug armor, don’t waste time trying to hit the ants. There’s no real benefit to purposefully running over the ants while you’ve got the lady buy shield. They’re only stunned for a split second. It’s better to use the time getting as much food as possible.
5. The lady bug armor will start to flash/blink when it’s about to run out. This is helpful because you don’t have to look at the bar up top in order to know when armor will disappear.
6. You get a lot more points per food when you play on hard mode. Playing on easy and medium modes can help you get more comfortable with the game so you can play on hard mode and (hopefully) get a higher score more quickly.
7. You don’t have to run directly over the food. All you need to do is graze the side of the food in order to collect it.

A Closer Look at New Spree Prizes: Trampoline, Cake and Pizza

New prizes recently debuted in the Spree Mall, and I was able to pick up a few last week. With the mall credits I had saved up I bought the Fun Floor Trampoline, the Pile of Pizza and the Platter Birthday Cake.

Let’s take a closer look at each of these new Spree prizes!

Fun Floor Trampoline

The Fun Floor Trampoline is a cheerful green color and really quite large. As you can see, the Fun Floor Trampoline is made to look like it’s set into the floor. It’s interactive, as you probably guessed. One fun thing about this trampoline is that your pets twirl in the air when they jump on it, rather than just bouncing up and down like they do on the regular trampoline that’s available in the WShop.

Pile of Pizza

The Pile of Pizza is a stack of pizza boxes with the Pizza Palace logo on them. Like several of the new Webkinz items that have been added recently, the Pile of Pizza can be turned for 4 different looks:

Platter Birthday Cake

The Platter Birthday Cake looks sooo yummy! 🙂 It’s a white cake that features 4 blue candles that light up when you click on the cake. Here’s a gif that shows the candles turning off and on:

Webkinz Berry Fest 2017 Prizes

Berry Fest 2017 kicked off today, and I’m already having “berry much” fun! 🙂 I’m loving this year’s Berry Fest prizes, and it’s great that floaty clicky prizes are back in the rooms and arcade. It makes it sooo much easier to collect all of the day’ prizes.

If you’ve been on Webkinz today, or remember Berry Fest activities from the past, then you know that there are 6 kinds of berries you’ll find floating around Webkinz World:

But…the REAL stars of the show are the Goo Goo Berry and the Polarberry. Why? Because feeding one of these types of berries to your pet will earn you a special prize.

There are two different sets of prizes, but they’re basically the same – just swap out one berry type for the other.

As you can see, the prizes are divided into three categories: common, uncommon and rare, which means that you’ll win more of the ice cream cone than you will the car.

I’ve had great luck so far this morning, and I’ve got 3 Goo Goo Berry Cars total. The only prize I don’t have yet is the Polarberry Car.

If you’re wondering how I could have already won so many prizes, it’s because I’ve saved up my Goo Goo Berries and Polarberries from previous years. I like to keep my “special” foods and store them in rooms filled with refrigerators, like this:

This morning I went searching through my refrigerators and found plenty of both kinds of berries stored away:

First are the preserves…these are fun because you can rotate them and get four different looks:

You can see that these wooden chairs are adorned with a cushion, and the cushion is decorated with either Goo Goo Berries or Polarberries.

A couple of trophies and some Thoughts from the Treetop: May 2, 2017

Sometimes the real world keeps me busy and I get behind on my Webkinz blogging. 🙂  I’m having an easy day today, just enjoying the beautiful weather and watching the birds at the feeders on my back deck.

I’ve got some fun news and some random thoughts to share, so I figured I’d do a Thoughts from the Treetop post and just collect it all in one place.

First I want to share my exciting news (well, it’s exciting to me, anyway) – I finally got a Pet Party Parade trophy! 🙂 I got the trophy a few days ago on my TreeHuggerJess account, and it’s really cute.

When you complete all 30 levels of the game, you’ll see this message:

Then because it was my first time winning the whole game and earning a trophy, I got this message:

It’s the beginning of a new month, and that means a new Deluxe Monthly Challenge. In order to meet this month’s challenge, you’ve got to earn 150 kinzcash playing Color Storm.

Speaking of trophies, I finally won the Candy Bash 2 trophy – and I won it on both of my accounts!

The Candy Bash 2 trophy looks like a chili pepper:

The Candy Bash 2 trophy is actually pretty easy to win once you know the secret/trick to unlocking it. The trophy is awarded randomly, BUT the only way you can have a chance of winning the trophy is by first getting “4 in a row” while you’re collecting the falling candy.

That means “catching” four of the same type of candies/sweets in a row, like this:

Once you’ve collected four in a row, keep playing and wait for the cat (named Gato Loco) to float by across the top of the screen. If Gato Loco is holding a trophy, hit him with a bean – the trophy will fall, and if you catch the trophy before it hits the ground, then congrats! You now have the Candy Bash 2 Trophy! When you catch the trophy, you’ll hear Poncho say “Arrrrrribe!”

The random trophy counter will reset after each appearance by Gato Loco. So if you see the cat but don’t get the trophy, you need to do another four in a row in order to have another chance at the trophy.

I’ve adopted a couple of pets recently. One of them was the Baby Bunny. The Baby Bunny was a special pet in the month of April because Baby Bunny owners got a extra activity each day. (Like the Reindeer Games in December and the Lovely Fox bonus activities in February.)

I named my Baby Bunny “Gidget,” and I think she’s a cutie:

A Brand New Bake Sale Has Arrived!

Today is the start of the brand new Webkinz bake sale celebration! From now through April 30th, you can collect different baked goods and combine them on a stove to “cook up” one of 10 awesome prizes.

Last year’s Bake Sale was so much fun! I’m really excited that Ganz brought it back with new prizes and goodies! I have a few tips for Bake Sale success that I posted last year – click here to read the post and see how you can make the most of this bake sale fun.

Let’s start with the basics – if you want to cook up prizes, you first need to collect the ingredients. The ingredients are 5 different kinds of baked goods, and there are actually 5 different ways to collect them!

1. “Today’s Annoucements” – you get one baked good just for logging into your account.
2. Spin the Wheel of Yum – make sure you head over to Today’s Activities to spin the Wheel of Yum and collect another baked good. (and maybe even win a Blueberry Prize Pie!)
3. Looking for floating baked goods in Webkinz World. Keep your eyes open for the floating baked goods all around Webkinz World – you can collect up to 5 per day!
4. Floating gift box on Webkinz Newz. When you’re doing your daily activities on Webkinz Newz, be on the lookout for the floating blue and white gift box. Click on it to send a gift box back to your Webkinz account – it will contain one baked good!
5. Keep checking Today’s Activities – throughout the day there will be random baked good giveaways, so check the Today’s Activities list to find out when.

As I mentioned above, in total there are 5 different types of baked goods (and they all look so yummy!):

Even though these foods look super yummy, remember that you must cook a specific combination of baked goods on a stove in order to get the prizes – simply feeding them to your pet won’t work. (All of the recipes are available in a cookbook that you get for free just for logging into your account!)

The prizes for this year’s Bake Sale are a little different. There’s no particular theme like last year where you could build a sweet shop or a school cafeteria. This year is a mixture of furniture and accessories that will work with many different themes. There are 10 prizes total – are you going to try to cook up all 10?

Don’t forget about the Grand Prize! Feed your pet a slice of Blueberry Prize Pie for a chance to win this awesome nautical-themed bunk bed:

You can see that I’ve used the Cozy Yacht Bed and several items available exclusively on Vacation Island. (Vacation Island is only available to Deluxe members!)

Last up I have the Fancy Hotel Dining Chair:

I’m really excited about this prize because it’s a perfect fit for the Hotel Theme. As you can see, I paired the Fancy Hotel Dining Chair with the Fancy Hotel Dining Table you can buy with Wish Tokens in the Wish Factory. Cozy Yacht Bed and Other Webkinz Superbeds

Webkinz recently released a new superbed. It’s called the “Cozy Yacht Bed” and features a helicopter landing pad where your pet can sleep.

Here are a couple of different views of the Cozy Yacht Bed in my pet’s room:

Superbeds are one of the most prized items in all of Webkinz World. These special and extremely unique beds can’t be bought in the WShop or even the Ganz eStore. To get your first Superbed, you must adopt 10 pets.

Upon adopting your 10th pet, you’ll see a “Super Exclusive Gift Box” show up in your dock. It looks like this:

Drag the box into your pet’s room, and it will pop open to reveal dozens of Superbeds you can choose from.

Once you’ve adopted 10 pets, you’ll get another Superbed gift box for every 5 more pets you adopt – so 15 pets, 20 pets, etc.

I was lucky that I had a Superbed gift box on hand when the Cozy Yacht Bed was released. I’m currently in the process of designing a room that features this new Superbed:

By combining blue flooring from the WShop and sandy beach tiles from the Vacation Island wheel, I was able to create a room that’s half land, half water. (Vacation Island is only open to players with a Deluxe membership.) As you can see, the Cozy Yacht Bed is out at sea, and I’ve started to decorate the land area with beach blankets and chairs.

Webkinz Trading Cards Series 2: Virtual Trading Cards

A while back I wrote a post about the Series 2 Webkinz Trading Cards that you can sometimes find at Ollie’s. (If you don’t have an Ollie’s, you can find all kinds of Webkinz Trading Cards on Amazon.)

I recently got a couple more boxes of the Series 2 Trading Cards, and it inspired me to blog about the “virtual trading cards” that used to go along with the real world trading cards.

Let me give you a quick overview in case you’re not familiar with Webkinz Trading Cards. There are four series, which started, of course, with Series 1 and 2. When you open a pack of Series 1 or 2 Trading Cards, you’ll find one or more of three different types of cards:

1. Feature code card – This card has a unique code that you can enter into the code shop for a prize.
2. Trading cards – These are what make up most of the pack and include pictures and descriptions of games, characters, pets, recipe foods and more
3. Mystery Pet card – These are rare, usually only one per an entire box; this is a code to enter into the Adoption Centre to receive a pet. You won’t know what kind until after you’ve entered the code.

Okay, so now that we’ve covered the basics, let’s talk about virtual cards. When Series 1 and Series 2 came out, both versions also included a special code for a pack of “virtual trading cards” on each feature code card.

The code for the virtual trading cards is on the very bottom of the feature code card:

You drag and drop the pack in your pet’s room, and several cards shake out.

Then, you can go to the Wshop and buy a binder that allows you to see the virtual cards you’ve collected. (Look under “Fun Stuff” and then “Books” to find the Series 1 Binder and Series 2 Binder for 100 kinzcash).

Honestly, just looking at the cards in the binders isn’t too exciting to me, but there IS something about the virtual cards that I think is really cool. Once you collect certain cards, you unlock neat prizes that you can’t get anywhere else…you can even unlock a trophy!

There are four sets in total to unlock, each with its own special prize:

When you collect all of the Webkinz Deck Cards, you get the Series 2 Collector Trophy:

When you collect all of the Challenge Cards, you get the Space Explorer Shuttle, which is interactive – your pet can ride in it!

When you collect all of the W Tales Snapshots, you get the W Tales Sofa (one of my favorites!):

When you collect all of the At Paw Level cards, you get the “At Paw Level Display Screen,” which is very unique:

Then, when you’ve completed all four sets, you win the Grand Prize, a Collector’s Paradise Waterfall:

Of all the virtual trading card prizes, by far my favorite is the trophy…I love collecting trophies! I just get so excited when I see my Trophy Room filling up!
